Mireille Zagolin, born in the Alps of the Valais (Switzerland) in 1958, has for many years lived and worked in Nyon, a town on the shores of Lake Geneva. The powerful landscapes and the lively village of her childhood awakened her creative spirit, which fully asserted itself as she entered her thirties. Shortly after the birth of her son, she found and chose painting and sculpture as the best means of expressing herself.

Initially self-taught and intensely passionate, she completed her artistic knowledge and practice by doing several private courses and internships in Switzerland and abroad (drawing, various painting techniques, sculpting with models, bronze techniques, stained glass), finally tmaking art her profession. After exploring many themes and techniques, she now focuses on oil painting, creating mysterious universes that fulfil her escaptist instincts, and on the sculpture of the human body - clay and bronze - which re-connects her to a real and palpable world.

She is represented by the Plexus Art Gallery (Montreux, Switzerland) and regularly exhibits her work in galleries as well as in public spaces. While retaining her Swiss roots, she now also displays her art across international borders.
